About Rolling Green Hills
About Rolling Green Hills
There is a particular quality of light that belongs to a landscape after rain — a freshness, a luminosity, as though the world has been cleaned and the colours restored to something closer to their original intensity. Rolling Green Hills by Sharyn Bursic captures that quality with a painterly confidence and directness that makes you want to step into the frame and keep walking.
The composition sweeps across a wide, gently undulating countryside under a sky full of soft, moving cloud. The foreground rises in a broad green hill, its surface rendered in Sharyn Bursic’s characteristically expressive brushwork — layered strokes of green and yellow-green and blue-green that suggest wind moving through grass, light shifting across a slope, the constant, quiet animation of a living landscape. A single tree stands in the lower right corner, its form rounded and particular, its trunk warm brown against the cooler greens around it. In the middle distance, patches of golden-yellow land appear between the curves of the hills — harvested fields, perhaps, or dry grass catching the afternoon light, their warmth a beautiful contrast to the fresh green of the slopes. Small dark trees punctuate the horizon, and beyond them, blue-grey mountains dissolve into the cloud-filled sky with the softness of a memory.
Sharyn Bursic is a painter of deep feeling and direct observation, and Rolling Green Hills shows both qualities at their finest. This is not a landscape that has been idealised or simplified into postcard prettiness — it is a landscape that has been genuinely seen, with all the complexity of light and shadow and colour that a real hillside carries. The brushwork is confident and expressive, each mark contributing to a surface that is alive with movement and atmosphere. The sky, in particular, is painted with a freedom and a sense of weather that gives the whole composition a feeling of genuine time and place.
The colour palette is a study in the full range of green — from the deep, almost teal green of the shadowed slopes to the bright yellow-green of the sunlit hillside, the warm gold of the fields, the blue-green of the trees, and the soft lavender-grey of the distant mountains. Against the pale, cloud-filled blue of the sky, these colours create a composition of extraordinary freshness and depth. It is a palette that brings the outside in — that gives any interior the feeling of space, air, and the particular calm that belongs to a wide landscape seen from a hill.
Rolling Green Hills works beautifully in a living room, where its generous sense of space and the expressiveness of Sharyn Bursic’s painterly surface create a focal point of genuine contemplative depth. In a study or home office, it offers the visual equivalent of a view — somewhere for the eye and mind to rest and recover. In a bedroom, the soft sky and the freshness of the green palette bring a quality of calm and openness. It pairs beautifully with natural wood, warm white walls, linen, and any interior that values the restorative quality of the natural world.
Each print is produced on premium matte paper, which captures the full painterly richness of Sharyn Bursic’s surface. The layered greens of the hillside are rendered with all their tonal complexity and expressive energy, the golden fields glow with warmth, and the soft sky is full of the movement and atmosphere of the original painting. The non-reflective finish gives the print a quality that is close to the original work — a landscape you can lose yourself in.
Rolling Green Hills is available in six sizes: A4, 30x40, 40x50, 50x70, 70x100 and 100x140 cm. In smaller formats, the painting has the quality of an intimate study — a moment of landscape held carefully. In larger sizes, the hills open up and the sky expands, and the composition fills the wall with the generous, restorative presence of a real and beautiful place.
For framing, we recommend a natural oak or warm wood frame to echo the warmth of the golden fields and the brown tree trunk, complementing the earthy, painterly quality of the work. A slim white frame also works beautifully, allowing the greens and the soft blue sky to breathe and giving the landscape a clean, gallery-quality presentation.
Rolling Green Hills by Sharyn Bursic is a landscape of freshness and feeling — a reminder that the most restorative thing in the world is sometimes simply a wide sky, a green hill, and the sense that there is plenty of room.
Tips for hanging your poster
Tips for hanging your poster
How to hang your poster – simple and stylish tips
Getting a poster to hang perfectly is all about the small details. Start by choosing the right height — as a general rule, the center of the poster should sit around 145–155 cm (57–61 inches) from the floor, placing it naturally at eye level. Pick a frame that complements both the artwork and the room, and take a moment to measure so everything hangs straight.
Consider the lighting too: natural light makes colours appear vibrant, but avoid direct sunlight to keep the print looking beautiful for years. If you're hanging multiple posters together, begin from the center and keep the spacing consistent for a clean, balanced look.
It's the little adjustments that make all the difference — creating a refined and well-composed result.
Hang your poster with no measuring stress
Use painter's tape for a quick and perfectly straight result:
- Hold your frame against the wall where you want it.
- Place a strip of painter's tape along the top edge of the frame.
- Mark exactly where the nail or screw should go.
- Remove the tape and stick it onto the wall — perfectly level.
- Hammer the nail into the marked spot.
- Remove the tape and hang your poster.
A simple method for a clean, perfectly aligned poster — every time.
